“We are going to issue the first set in six months. We have the materials, we have the resources, so it is doable, for the fact that it’s a low-cost housing,” he assured, stressing that the MIDC is known for delivering top notch projects, beating timelines while ensuring that quality and style are not compromised’’, he said.

Umunnah added that the company had delivered similar projects in Badagry, Lagos State, and would ensure the Fire Service project is completed within the stipulated time.

He urged governments at all levels to make the processes of acquiring land and obtaining development approvals for mass housing easier, so that many Nigerians could have access to housing.

City News learnt that the project which would be financed by mortgage, through the First Trust Mortgage Limited, will be located in Lugbe, Airport Road, Abuja.

The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Alhaji Liman Ibrahim, while receiving the property firm’s staff members in his office, assured of his support to the success of the project.

He insisted that the housing scheme cannot fail, since housing was an essential need for man and every worker dreams of owning one.
