The body of defunct Gongola State Governor, Wilberforce Bafte Juta has been finally laid to rest in his residence in Pakka of Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
There was total adherence to the COVID-19 protocol as mourners were seen observing social distance and wearing a face mask at the cathedral LCCN church in Yola where the funeral service took place.
Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the death of the former ambassador is a tremendous loss to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and the entire nation.
The state Deputy Governor, Chief Crowther Seth, who represented the governor at the burial, praised the late governor’s commitment and his versatility of knowledge.
Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Haruna Manu said the late Juta had fostered unity and development in the two states and lauded his exemplary efforts in leadership.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, who represented the presidency, said the 76-year-old late Juta was his principal in secondary school, saying Adamawa people should accept his demise as an act of God.
Ambassador Wilberforce Juta was born on the 3rd of May 1944 and until his death the founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
