A housewife has been abducted by armed men suspected to be kidnappers at Namne village in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State on Saturday, four days after she gave birth.
Zainab Buba, a 25-year-old housewife, it was gathered, gave birth to a baby boy four days ago and was kidnapped from her room at midnight.
The kidnappers left the newborn baby behind even when the kidnapped mother insisted she wanted to carry her baby along.
Daily Trust further gathered that Zainab’s husband, Buba Maianguwa is a traditional ruler.
It was learnt that the gunmen targeted Buba who was said to have some herds of cows, but he managed to escape through the back of the house when they arrived.
Residents of the village, it was gathered, have organised a search party in an attempt to rescue the nursing mother whose baby has been crying as it was put under the care of another nursing mother in the village.
The kidnappers, Daily Trust gathered, have called Buba Maianguwa, the husband of Zainab, and demanded a ransom.
Police spokesman in the state DSP David Misal could not be reached for comment as his line was switched off when our reporter called him.
