The meeting was convened by the Chairman, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, (AYCF), Alhaji Yerima Shetima; Executive Director, Journalists for Democratic Rights (JODER), Mr. Adewale Adeoye, a civil rights advocate, Auwal Rafsanjani,  President, Ohanaeze  Ndigbo Youth Council, Comrade Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Yoruba  global youth leader, Barrister Dotun Hassan, President Ijaw Youth Council, (IYC), Comrade Timothy Igbifa, among others.

In a communiqué at the end of the meeting, the participants urged the young generation of Nigerians “to insist on the emergence of a visionary and dynamic leadership which will effectively deal with our security and economic challenges, and ensure good governance in the country.”

They demanded the immediate revamping of the security architecture of Nigeria and removal of marauding killers from the communities they have occupied and return the same to their rightful owners who now live in IDP camps.

The communiqué also called on the Federal Governments and the state governments to address the root causes of insecurity, including but not limited to poverty, exclusion, unemployment, human right violations and weak institutions.

They said recent invasion of several communities by murderous insurgents, marauding killers, bandits and kidnappers are unacceptable proportions and this gravely endangers the peace, unity and development of the country.
