Two persons sustained machete cuts following a clash between a suspected cultist and members of a vigilante group in Anguwar Abattoir, Mpape in Abuja.
A resident of the area simply known as Samson said the incident happened on Tuesday, when some vigilante members accosted the suspected cultist identified as Odion, who was said to be returning to his house at about 2:00am and he was stopped to identify himself.

He said the suspected cultist was unable to give the vigilante members a convincing and satisfactory answer and the vigilante descended on him.
“The suspected cultist then engaged the vigilante members in a fight, macheting two of them with cutlass which led to two persons sustaining injuries,” he said.
He said a group of youths, upon getting information of the fracas, mobilized to the area, a development which created tension.
He added that security personnel had to go to the scene to disperse the youth.
When contacted, the spokesman of the FCT police command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, confirmed the incident, saying investigation was still ongoing in the case.
