The Southern Kaduna Emergency Relief Initiative, has organised a medical outreach for displaced persons camping at the Zonkwa IDPs camp following the communal clash that rocked Zangon Kataf LGA in the southern part of Kaduna State.
The three-day medical outreach was aimed at reducing the level of trauma among victims as well as administering treatment for common ailments.
Addressing the victims of the crisis, the Chief Executive Officer of the NGO, Professor Abraham Dogo, said the organisation provided such services, especially to people exposed to hardship.
Also speaking, the manager, Salama Centre, Grace Yohanna Abbin, spoke on zero tolerance of all forms of gender-based violence and child abuse, especially rape.
She emphasised the need for survivors of rape and other acts of violence to be quickly taken to the centre at Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital, Kafanchan for medical attention.
A cross-section of the beneficiaries, who got treated of different ailments, expressed gratitude to the organisation for coming to their aid.
