17 year old Nigerian, Prosper Nwoko, the rave of the moment in Australian athletics has maintained dominance of the country’s Youth Athletics world with his recent victory at the Summer Set College Athletics Meet in Queensland.
The youngster who hails from Rivers State returned a time of 10.91 seconds to pick the 100m gold at the meet in March 2020.
He has maintained his dominance of the Australia School Athletics which he claimed in the 2018 meet to remain both the State and National champion in his age category
His outstanding performances have earned him scholarship from the Austrian government to the admiration of his parents.
The mother of the athlete, Mrs. Joy Smart Nwoko in her appreciation said “That talent has gotten him scholarship in a prestigious college here which he attends.
“He is in grade 11 and we can’t stop thanking God. Where would I have seen money for such a school?,” she asked rhetorically.
It was also gathered that the young athlete was preparing to lead Australia to the World U-20 Athletics Championship before it was suspended due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
It is hoped that the talented athlete would continue from where he stopped when sporting activities resume fully.
