The Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars football club, Coach Ibrahim Musa has appealed to the federal government and the relevant football authorities in the country to ensure football is reopened as soon as possible.
Speaking to Daily Trust on Thursday, the coach said as much as the deadly coronavirus is not completely defeated, the continuous shutdown of sporting activities particularly football would not augur well for the sector.
He, therefore, appealed to the Nigeria Football Federation to liaise with the relevant federal government authorities on the control of COVID-19 to help bring back on- field football activities.
Coach Musa said even if football is not reopened fully, the four continental clubs, Plateau United, Enyimba FC, Rivers United and Kano Pillars should be assisted to resume.
“In as much as I fully understand the situation on the ground, I want to appeal to the government and the NFF to find a way to re-open football activities.
“Time is fast running out on those of us who are going to represent the country in the continent.
“Our continental opponents have since resumed training and if we don’t do the same, we would be overwhelmed whenever we come up against them,” he said.
