The National Directorate of Employment has concluded plans to create 17, 000 jobs in Plateau State through the Special Public Workforce Programme by the federal government.
Rufus Bature, Chairman Federal Government Public Works Committee in the state, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Jos on the FG’s effort to reduce unemployment in the county.
Rufus explained that in each Local Government, 200 graduates of tertiary education would be employed, while 800 others made up of secondary school graduates and illiterates would make up the list to complete 1000 staff per local government.
“While selecting the 1000 for each of the LGAs, we shall set aside 200 that might be deployed to the various MDAs.
“Women are to be allotted 35% of the slot, while people with disability take 10%,” he added.
