The ruling APC and leading opposition PDP are traded tackles over free and fair elections ahead of the September 19 governorship election in Edo State.
APC in a statement on Monday, by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, alleged that PDP was crumbling and also shockingly rudderless under its current national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus.

The party claimed that Secondus was in a willful denial of the obvious; that under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration, free, fair and credible elections are the new normal.
But reacting, PDP in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the statement showed that the APC as a political party, was dead.
“PDP notes that the responsibility of a political party is to engender civic participation in a free, fair and democratic environment, which the APC has brazenly violated in all our elections since 2019,” the party stated.
