Boko Haram insurgents on Tuesday reportedly manned a checkpoint and robbed motorists on the Maiduguri-Magumeri Road.
A leader of hunters in the state, Bunu Bukar, said: “The attackers neither entered into the town nor did they shoot anybody; and they only positioned themselves on the outskirts, waylaying vehicles that were moving in and out of Magumeri town.

“As of yesterday evening, some of the attackers had left, but some were still seen at the scene – just less than 40 kilometers away from Maiduguri the Borno state capital – intercepting vehicles and robbing passengers.”
