The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party barely two months after he joined the party from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ajayi moved from PDP to Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and has been cleared to contest the October 10 governorship election in the state under ZLP.
The spokesperson to the Deputy Governor, Tope Okeowo said his principal “has been cleared and no going back on that again. He is ZLP candidate”.

Ajayi was defeated by former attorney-general and Commissioner for Justice in the State, Eyitayo Jegede in the PDP primaries held on June 23, 2020.
Jegede polled 888 votes to beat the embattled deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi (657 votes)
Ajayi had left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after falling out with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
