The remains of the executive member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Chidi Ofo-Okenwa, were laid to rest yesterday in his home-town, Akpugo, near Enugu.
During the requiem church service of Ofo-Okenwa,50, at St. Stephen’s Methodist Church, The Rev Charles Ogbunisi advised Christians to live righteously for God by shunning all forms of evil and wickedness while alive.
Ogbunisi said that death remained a great mystery only understood by God and could come to any human at any time.
Mr Nkem Okenwa, brother of the deceased, thanked the NFF and all its subordinate bodies, groups and football clubs, as well as the burial committee of friends and the church for their support towards a successful burial.
The burial was attended by NFF executives, top officials of the Enugu State Youths and Sports Ministry, management of Rangers International FC, Enugu, executive members of Enugu State Football Association, Enugu Football Referees Association, among many others.
Ofo-Okenwa, until his death, was the chairman of the Enugu State Football Association and husband of Mrs Chika Okenwa, South-East zonal marketing officer of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
