Okafor stressed that LPTC would also assess the current condition of health facilities in Yobe state and identify the gaps with a view to advising on how to upgrade them.
She said the organisations have donated medical equipment to health facilities and the health workers would be trained on the use and maintenance of the equipment.
The Yobe State Commissioner for Health, Dr Muhammad Lawan Gana, said the training would help in shaping the attitude of health workers on proper patient handling.
“Only God knows how many patients died in this part of the country due to poor services they receive in hospitals, so this training was set aside to educate health workers in order to address some of these challenges,” he said.
A nurse with accident and emergency unit in Potiskum, Mr Philip Umaru said the training would meet up to his expectations.
