Group raises alarm over foreigners’ influx in Edo

A group under the umbrella of Ogbakha-Edo has raised alarm over the influx of foreigners into communities in Benin, the Edo State capital.

A statement signed by its Secretary General, Dr. Andrew Osaretin Izekor, said they are worried due to the alleged invasion of forests in parts of Ovia and Orhionmwon by suspected armed men who are attacking innocent farmers.

They said aside eyewitnesses, they have seen several videos of young men, either alighting from long haulage trucks or on the streets of Benin. They called on security agencies and the Edo State government to as a matter of urgency take steps to address the situation.
