Bandits kidnap 25 in Zamfara community

Suspected armed bandits yesterday kidnapped at least 25 people in Bindin community in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Daily Trust gathered.

The armed men laid siege on the community and stationed themselves at the outskirts and then sent about six of them to execute their plot.

“They were going from one house to another picking people. They then drove the kidnapped persons into the forest asking their relatives to pay for ransom before they could be released.

“One of the kidnapped victims managed to escape and a woman was released because she is nursing a baby,” a resident said.

The spokesman for the state police command, SP Muhammad Shehu could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report.
