Another professor in Kano, Aliyu Danshehu Maiwada (ADM), died on Saturday after a brief illness, a family source has disclosed.
Few weeks ago, A professor of Mass Communication at Bayero University Kano, Balarabe Maikaba, died after a brief illness.
Maikaba was the third professor to have died within two days in the state.

He died a day after Professor Ibrahim Ayagi, the CEO of Hassan Gwarzo School, and Professor Aliyu Umar Dikko of the Physiology department of the same university died.
Prof Maiwada was a retired lecturer from the Geography Department, Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences (FEES), Bayero University, Kano.
In his tribute, a former colleague of his, Prof Julius Afolabi Falola, described the deceased as a quiet, gentle, peace loving, epitome of contentment, and glaringly family man, adding that “A geographer of the Urban sub- discipline is gone.”
“I know that whereas you are no more, students and researchers who will read about your modest and valuable contributions to Urban geography, Kano focused in particular, will still come to know you without physically interacting with you,” Prof Falola has said.
“ADM has gone! What a loss!! We can only look up to the Most High, the Almighty and all knowing God to comfort the Maiwada family, the BUK geography family and, of course, FEES of which he was a part in growing. Adieu dear colleague,” he added.
He was survived by a wife and six children, and has been buried according to Islamic rites.
