Court orders arrest of council boss in Kano

The Magistrate Court 82 in Kano has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area, Kabiru Ado Panshekara, for failure to appear before it to answer a criminal complaint.

The presiding judge, Musa Ibrahim Fagge, said Panshekara failed to appear before the court despite receiving a criminal summon based on complaint by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission on Criminal Breach of Trust and making false statement.

In a suit, the agency alleged the offence was contrary to section 315 of the penal code law and section 26 of Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Law 2008 (As amended).
