The Technical Committee for the control of Coronavirus in Taraba State has been thrown into confusion as seven out of the 124 persons released from isolation centre in Jalingo tested positive for coronavirus.
Daily Trust gathered that the committee, along with officials of Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), discharged 124 persons quarantined at an isolation centre in Jalingo before the release of their results from NCDC.
It was gathered that NCDC released the result of persons tested for coronavirus yesterday and confirmed 7 persons positive.
The technical committee, it was gathered, have gone into a meeting with a view to locate those that were released from the isolation center on Sunday.
A member of the committee, who will not like his name mentioned, said those that were released had mounted pressure on the committee leading to the release of the 124 even before their results were out from the NCDC.
He said before their release, full documentation including telephone numbers were taken and all of them were handed to chairmen of their respective local government areas of the state.
“They mounted pressure on the committee to release them and they were released before the results of the Coronavirus test conducted on them came out. But it is easy to locate them because full documentation was carried out on those released,” he said.
