An elder statesman, Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim, says the present predicament of Nigerians is due to years of bad leadership.
Ibrahim, who was the Financial Secretary of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN), told Daily Trust that years after the country returned to civil rule, the challenge has not been overcome.
“It is unfortunate that this well-endowed country is presently experiencing many difficulties including hunger, unemployment, misplacement of priorities, lack of proactive measures amongst other things that are devastating Nigerians more than the coronavirus pandemic,” he said.
He said Nigerian doctors both within and outside the country should be motivated to contribute to the development of the health sector.
He called on those in power to make amends by serving the general public and not a few privileged individuals.
