Okowa urges Delta workers to stop COVID-19 at workplace

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has commended the state’s workers for their continued sacrifices and charged them to stem the spread of the ravaging coronavirus at their respective workplaces.

In a message to the workers, in line with this year’s theme, “Stop the Pandemic at Work”, Okowa commended them for their support and contributions to the growth and development of the state.

He said in accordance with the global community, the state government had at the onset of the pandemic deployed personnel and resources into the battle to save lives of residents of the state by providing necessary facilities and training and re-training relevant health workers. He urged workers to imbibe and internalise the new culture of personal hygiene, including the use of facemask and observance of social-distancing while interacting in public, and appealed to them to support government in sensitising residents, especially at the grassroots on all matters pertaining to the pandemic.
