The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lagos Young Adults and Youth Affairs (LYAYA), has concluded plans to hold the Season 9 of its annual event, tagged Lagos Shift, online.
The annual event with the theme, ‘Rise 2 Shine’ comes up on Sunday May 3, 2020 from 1pm.
The annual event is taking place online due to the social distancing protocol to contain the spread of COVID-19. It will be streamed live on @LagosShift social media platform, with participation open to all.
According to the organizers, the event would provide insights into how youths, in particular, can remain optimistic and rise above the debilitating impact of COVID-19 in this era of global uncertainty.
The Lagos Shift is an initiative aimed at youths’ motivation and talent discovery and nurturing with the expectation that talented youths would have a better future via the use of their natural talents.
Lagos Shift 2020 will also give an opportunity to young Nigerians who have viable business ideas that can solve social problems to pitch such ideas, while outstanding concepts will be selected by certified judges and a winner selected.
The organizers said entries for this Business Innovation Challenge opened on Monday April 27, 2020 and would close on Sunday May 10, 2020. Entries will be in form of 60 seconds video and are to be submitted online via @LagosShift on Instagram.
The guest speaker for the 9th Edition of Lagos Shift on May 3 is Mr. Mitchell Elegbe, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Interswitch. Elegbe is expected to share practical tips on rising above the storms and the aftermath of COVID-19 in one’s career, businesses, finances and other spheres of life.
