COVID-19: Six more patients recover in Lagos, total recovery now 123

Six additional COVID-19 patients, made up of three females and three males, have fully recovered and have been discharged from the Lagos University Teaching Hospital isolation facility to reunite with the society.

The Commissioner for health, Professor Akin Abayomi, who revealed this on his verified twitter handle @ProfAkinAbayomi, said that the latest recovery brings total number of discharged COVID-19 patients in Lagos to 123.

According to him, 33 new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed in Lagos on April 25, 2020, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the State to 703, out of which 123 have now been treated and discharged.

He further made known that one case previously confirmed in Lagos have been transferred to Ondo state, bringing to 14, the total number of transferred cases with 19 deaths recorded.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, had announced that laboratory tests confirmed 87 new cases of coronavirus infections on Saturday, raising Nigeria’s total to 1182, less than two months after the index case was confirmed in Lagos.

228 people have now been discharged while thirty-five people have died.

According to the report published by NCDC on its Twitter handle, @NCDCgov, 33 cases were confirmed in Lagos, 18 in Borno state, 12 in Osun and 9 in Katsina.

Kano and Ekiti recorded four each; Edo and Bauchi confirmed 3 each while Imo state recorded its index case.
