Youths threaten to lock down FCT companies not contributing to Covid-19 response

Youths in Abuja have threatened to lock down corporate organisations if they don’t respond with donations to the response against Covid-19 as their counterparts in Lagos have been doing.

The FCT Youths Task force Response Team on Covid19 in collaboration with the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) say they will mobilise youths from all six area councils to shut down operations of companies, financial institutions and estate developers within the FCT if the companies do not contact the FCT minister with donations before Wednesday April 9.

The Chairman NYCN FCT chapter Ango Sulaiman said that so many companies, estate developers, financial institutions in Lagos have been collaborating and contributing immensely towards the fight against COVID19 but in FCT, “we are yet to enjoy to experience that.”

They went further to call the attention of the FCT Minister, and the minister for State FCT, to call the attentions of companies in the FCT, to call the attention of financial institutions in the FCT, the private and estate developers in the FCT to do the needful before it is too late.

On his part, the spokesperson for FCT Natives, Yunusa Ahmadu said they would go after those companies when restrictions within the FCT is relaxed.

He said, “Take your Headquarters, that you have located in the FCT back to wherever you want to take it to. we can’t continue to harbour people who do not support the people of the FCT.”
