“At this period of COVID-19, it is very important for all Nigerians, especially rural dwellers, to regularly wash their hands with clean running water and soap, in between hands, rub hand sanitizer, cough into tissue paper and dispose properly and sneeze into elbow,” he said.

According to Alkali- Zakwoyi, the sensitization campaign would continue until coronavirus is finally eradicated in Nigeria.

He, therefore, advised all Nigerians, especially those at the grassroots, to obey government’s directive on COVID-19 and imbibe good and hygienic environmental condition.

Alkali-Zakwoyi also advised them to report anyone with fever, continuous coughing, sneezing and sore throat to the closest health facility or call NCDC free toll number of 080097000010 or National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria on 08033363952 and 08067298213.

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria is now 224 with five deaths and 27 recoveries.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has been able to prevent community spread so far with aggressive tracing  of those who had contact with confirmed cases.
