COVID-19: CAN orders churches to shut down

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ogun State Chapter, has directed churches in the state to shut down all activities to curtail the risk of spreading COVID-19.

The chairman of CAN in the state, Bishop Tunde Akin-Akinsanya, gave the directive on Friday in a statement issued in Abeokuta.

Akin-Akinsanya noted that it was not safe to gather and worship at this period of COVID-19.

“At this trying time, let us apply God’s wisdom and follow  his directive in the book of Isaiah 26:20.” he said.

He, however, urged Christians to continue praying for the country, even while they are in their various homes. (NAN)
