New police commissioner assumes duty

A new Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State, Nkereuwem Akpan, has assumed duty.

Akpan, who is the immediate past Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, takes over from Mr Uche Anozia.

The police spokesman in the state, SP Asinim Butswat, in a statement on Friday, stated that the new commissioner reported for duty on March 26, 2020.

He stated, “He is a seasoned police officer with proven skills in operation and administration. He has served in various commands and formations in various capacities.”
