Covid-19: Kebbi closes boundaries with other states

Kebbi state has closed its boundaries with other states by banning travelling to and from other states with effect from Saturday, March, 28.

The state governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, made this known while briefing newsmen, saying the movement restriction did not include vehicles on emergency services and those transporting food and pharmaceutical items.

Though, the governor, did not ban Jummat congregational prayer and Sunday service as it were in neighbouring Niger state, he said that all markets should operate at minimal hours with a view to reduce the gathering of people.

He added that while Islamiya and Almajiri schools would remained closed indefinitely, all public places, including events centres should limit the number of people gathering at such places.

“Travel to and from other states is hereby restricted with effect from midnight of Saturday,March, 28, 2020. This does not apply to vehicles on emergency services, security agencies, those transporting food, fuel and pharmaceutical items.

“All schools including Islamiya and almajiri schools shall remain closed, until further notice. All large gathering are hereby discouraged and stay at home order is mean to minimize the gathering of many people in one place.”
