Access Bank is asking customers, who visited its Ligali Ayorinde branch in Lagos last Monday, to self-quarantine and seek medical help.
This is because a customer, who visited the branch on the 16th March 2020, tested positive for coronavirus, according to a statement from the bank.
The statement on the bank’s verified handle @myaccessbank reads: “We have just confirmed that an individual who visited our Ligagli Ayorinde branch on Monday 16th March 2020 has tested positive for the coronavirus.”
It added that the individual was symptom free at the time of the visit, while clarifying that he is currently being monitored at an isolating centre in Yaba.
The statement added that: “In line with our emergency response plan and following regulatory practices, the branch has been temporarily closed for thorough disinfection. Persons who had any contact with the individual are currently in isolation.”
“It is advised that anyone who visited the bank in the last week should self-quarantine for a period of 14 days starting immediately.
“Should you feel sick or exhibit any of the coronavirus symptoms, please contact the Nigeria Cenre for Disease Control, NCDC.”
As at 23rd of March 2020, there are 36 recorded cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria with 25 of them in Lagos state.
Nigeria has also recorded 1 death and 2 recovered cases.
