The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Abuja chapter has elected new excos.
CIPM is a professional body for the practice of human resource management in Nigeria.
The election was conducted on Wednesday during the CIPM’s Annual General Meeting held at the National Human Rights Commission office in Abuja.
The newly elected chairman, Aminu Ya’u, in his acceptance speech said his administration would ensure that human resource practice in Nigeria is done according to laid down principles and extant rules.
He added that world best practices would also be ensured during his tenure.
”Any organisation you go to, they have their own extant rules. Unfortunately we hardly follow those rules. That is where CIPM comes in, to play that role of regulator, you can’t operate HR without policy. But you have the policy but not abiding by it,” he said.
He noted that as the newly elected chairman of the CIPM Abuja chapter, they are committed to sensitising members on human resources management in Nigeria.
Other elected members include, Kamaldeen Ayanbiyi, who emerged the vice chairman, Adio Shuab Adeola secretary and Maryam Mohammed PRO.
Others are Dorcas Ogbu, financial secretary, Oluwatosin Zubir, treasurer, and Sorunmu Oluwaseun Abiodun, assistant secretary general.
