The power of wealth (I)

“The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.” Proverbs 22:7 KJV. Just think about it. Think of the relationship between the landlord and the tenant, the rich and poor nations. The rich rules over the poor.

Deuteronomy 28:1-2, “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. [2] And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God.”

[10] And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.”

SPONSOR AD

Deuteronomy 28:1-14 is one of the most powerful teachings in the Bible. It’s not just about obedience and blessings, it’s about the power and influence that wealth brings when Kingdom laws and precepts are applied. It’s about showcasing God through us.

God says I want to so bless you so that the whole world will know who I am.

When you apply the laws, the blessing comes upon every aspect of what you do for optimum output. It’s not about you, it’s about Him. That is to say, God does not bless you for you alone but for Himself and for His Kingdom. Why? Because your prosperity is good for His image, for His Name! Your generosity shows how generous He is.

God intends for the church to be powerful, big and wealthy so that it can influence more people into the Kingdom. The power of wealth is summarised in this scripture but verse 10 gives us the summary of the extent of the influence that the blessing of the Lord brings. “[10] And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.

You don’t command respect and influence when you are broke. I don’t know how many unsuccessful people have names that people remember.

8 Keys To Influence

The impact of the church comes mainly from eight things:

1. The exhibition of God’s character and nature. Without love, mercy, integrity, honesty, righteousness, etc. everything we say or do will be worthless. We must be the living epistles that people can read.

2. The display of the power of God. Miracles, signs, and wonders.

3. Effective outreach.

4. Prayer. The power of the church is received and unleashed through prayer.

5. It’s wealth. Zachariah 1:17, “Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.”

6. It’s generosity. God blesses us to be a blessing. God’s wealth is to be shared with those who don’t have. You are a channel and not a warehouse.

7. It’s size. The larger we are, the more people we can reach and the greater our influence. The larger we are, the stronger our voice. This is true even for an individual or a company. A larger church is a more powerful church. A larger company is a more powerful company. There is no benefit in playing small!

8. Unity. It doesn’t matter how many we are, if we are not united, we are weak.

Also embedded in this scripture is what to do in order to become wealthy.

Money Myths

We are going to look at the power of wealth but there are money myths we must first dismiss. They are not to be believed.

1. Money is scarce. This is not true. There is a lot of money in the world, it is the distribution of money that is the problem. Some have figured out how to accumulate it and others have not. The millionaire does not believe money is scarce. He says, “There is money somewhere, I’m going to figure out how to get it.” If you believe that money is scarce, you will not do much to attract it to you. As a matter of fact, the Bible promises abundance in many scriptures.

2. Money is evil. The Bible does not say so either. If money was evil why will God own it? Why will God give someone power to get it? If it was evil, God would not have given it to Abraham, Isaac, King David, King Solomon, etc. The Bible says in 1Timoney 6:10, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” Notice also it says those who chase after money err from the faith and pierce themselves with many sorrows. As a matter of fact, the more you chase money, the more it runs away from you. Proverbs 23:5, “Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.” Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” As we said earlier, find out the laws that govern wealth, apply them and you will acquire and control wealth. Money can intoxicate. Money can become a god: taking over and controlling a person’s life.

Money is a means for multiplying the value of every human attribute and capacity. Money makes you more of what you are. Money in the hands of a wicked man makes him more wicked. Money in the hands of a generous man makes him more generous. Love God, obey His laws and money will chase you.

3. God chooses who He gives wealth to. This is not true. He gives the power to produce something that can attract money into your life. Be fruitful and multiply means produce something, multiply it, distribute and sell it, control the market and exercise dominion.

4. I can pray and money will start flowing into my life. This is not true. Prayer is not the seed for money, money is the seed for money. There are laws that govern the attraction and control of money, learn them and money will be flowing into your life.

5.          All you need to make money is money. That’s not true. To make money you need an idea that can be turned into a product that people need. People don’t perish for lack of money, they perish for lack of vision. There is a product or products in you waiting to be served to the world. Find it, develop it and serve it to the world, you will not be short of reward.

6. If I can just find someone to release the anointing on me, I will make money. That is not true. There are many other keys that are necessary for attracting money into one’s life. The anointing gives you the power to produce. That means you have to have a product you are producing in order for the anointing to work. God does not give you money, He gives you the power to get it and that is the power to produce.
