A 26 years old man, Kamaldin Abu Sabo, has been arrested by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) for attempting to kill his biological mother in Lafia, Nasarawa state.
NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mahmud Gidado Fari, told Daily Trust on Monday that the mother of the suspect reported that her son has been threatening to kill her for no just reason.
“That is why we have arrested him and would soon charge him to court. It is wrong for anybody to say that he would kill another person. What makes this case different is that she is his biological mother,” the Civil Defence boss added.
In a chat with newsmen, the suspect (Kamaldin) who had a skull tattoo on his right arm with scars on his face and body said: “I am living on Shendam Road in Lafia. I dropped out from Government College Keffi. I am a Tailor and did not attempt to kill my biological mother. And I did not agree with the statement of the NSCDC that my mother reported me; it was my elder brother who reported me to the NSCDC.”
He added: “I had the tattoo because of the fancy I have for it, but I am not a cultist.”
But when asked why he had many scars on his face and body, Kamaldin did not reply.
Meanwhile, the NSCDC also paraded six other suspects arrested for various offences committed in the state.
They include Muhammad Adamu of Sabon Fegi area of Lafia and Ali Aminu who were arrested for allegedly dealing in buying and selling of stolen handsets.
Similarly, another suspect who gave his names as Amos Ugondu was arrested for alleged advance fee fraud, popularly called 419. Our reporter learnt that Ugondu was arrested because he collected N1million to supply Beniseed to a customer, but failed to deliver the supply.
“I am from Keana; I don’t know how old I am, but I was arrested because some of my Fulani friends borrowed my GSM handset to copy some songs. Then, I was arrested because they went and snatched a motorcycle and dropped my handset at the scene,” another suspect named Muhammad Ibrahim told our reporter.
