Kano NYSC appeals to Ganduje over deplorable road to orientation camp

The former state coordinator of the NYSC in Kano,  Alhaji Ladan Baba has appealed to the state government to rehabilitate the road leading to its orientation camp at Kusala Dam in Karaye local government area.

Baba who lamented the deplorable nature of the road and its attendant effects on the live of the corps members during orientation exercises called for urgent intervention by the government.

He made the call on Friday in an address while handing over the mantle of leadership of the scheme to a new state coordinator.

He said a total of 12 ,002 corps members are currently undergoing their one year mandatory national service in the state.

Alhaji Baba, who handed over to Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammed, however commended governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for “all necessary assistance his administration had provided to the NYSC”.

According to him, the state governor provided two solar powered boreholes to the scheme at the permanent orientation camp, noting that this gesture has greatly reduced the burden of sourcing for drinkable water, which corps members would have been facing on camp .

“However let me use this medium to solicit for cooperation of Ganduje ‘s administration to help in rehabilitation of the road leading to orientation camp, as commuters capitalise on the poor condition of the road to charge exorbitant fares”

The new State coordinator, Hajiya Mohammed appreciated the former state coordinator for leaving a firm foundation built on mutual respect for one another among the staff of the scheme.
