The Federal University Kashere Gombe State has administered matriculation oath to newly admitted students into several academic programmes.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Alhassan Mohammed Gani, said only 3, 057 students were admitted out of over 10, 000 candidates that applied for admission into the institution.
He lamented that only 925 females were admitted, which he said was poor compared to the males, therefore called on the federal, state and local governments to do more towards supporting female education, “by creating more awareness for support of female education”.
Professor Gani said any student found wanting in character would be disciplined in accordance with rules and regulations of the university, adding that any student with poor performance will be withdrawn from the university.
The vice chancellor added that the university management will continue to sustain and improve on efforts to provide quality education to the students and appealed to them to be serious in their studies.
According to him, the School of Postgraduate Studies has secured approval for 46 academic programmes including Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees.
Gani further said its pioneer Postgraduate Diplomas and Masters Degrees students have already commenced lectures for the 2019/2020 academic session, adding that the School of Preliminary and General Studies has also commenced lectures for the pioneer set of students for 2019/2020 academic session.
