The Federal University of Lafia, (FULafia), has concluded arrangements to confer honourary doctorate degrees on Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, Ambassador Ahmed Gazali and a billionaire businessman, Abdulsamad Isiyaku Rabi’u.
Similarly, the late Emir of Lafia, Alhaji Isa Mustapha Agwai, who died in 2019, would be posthumously awarded a Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa).
In a statement by spokesman of the university, Abubakar Ibrahim, the conferment was part of the activities to celebrate the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th, convocation ceremony scheduled to hold on Saturday
The statement quoted the Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammed Sanusi Liman as saying that Al-Makura, former governor of Nasarawa State would be honoured for his “invaluable contributions to the development of the university”.
