2 killed, houses burnt in Tiv village

Armed militia have attacked a Tiv village in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State and killed two persons and burnt down several houses.

Armed with sophisticated weapons, the militia attacked Buawa, a Tiv village along Wukari-Ibi road on Thursday night.

Daily Trust Saturday gathered that the attack was unprovoked as there was no any misunderstanding between the Tiv in the village and their Jukun neighbours.

Efforts to speak with the Chairman of Ibi Local Government Area, Mr. Bala Bako failed as he did not answer calls made to him.

However, Taraba State Command Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP David Misal confirmed the attack.
