Demand rises for Islamic banking and finance courses

The registrar, Islamic Institute of Accounting and Finance, Professor Asiwaju Busari S. Akande, has said the demand for Islamic finance and banking programmes has risen over the years.

He said the institute celebrated its 10th anniversary in the South-South region, particularly Akwa Ibom and Cross River States, noting that the membership had exceeded 5,000.

Prof. Akande explained that the institute extended its programmes abroad as a result of the steady demand for Islamic finance programmes from students and members in Ghana, Abidjan, Porto-Novo, Pakistan, India and Lome. It has accreditations in Pakistan and Dubai,” he added
