The Bayelsa Medical University (BMU), Yenagoa has admitted 208 pioneer students for the 2019/2020 academic year.
The vice-chancellor, Prof. Ebitimitula Nicholas Etebu, announced this during the matriculation ceremony in Yenagoa.
He listed the eight programmes offered by the university as; Basic Medical Sciences, Basic Sciences, Basic Clinical Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biomedical Engineering/Technology.
He revealed that the university, which was established by the state government in 2018 as the second medical university in the country, has the National Universities Commission (NUC) approval to run the eight programmes.
