Governor Nasir El-Rufai has approved the appointment of Major Garba Yahaya Rimi (rtd) as the head of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA).
The governor made this known in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Muyiwa Adekeye on Tuesday.
He said that all appointments in his administration are based on merit.
The statement added that the appointment of retired Major Garba Yahaya Rimi as the new General Manager of KASTLEA becomes effective immediately.
He said prior to his appointment, Major Rimi (rtd) was the Assistant General Manager (Security and Enforcement) at the Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company.
“The new General Manager of KASTLEA also served as the Chairman of the Security Directorate of the Malam Nasir El-Rufai Campaign Committee in 2014, before becoming the Secretary of the Directorate of General Purpose in 2015,” he said.
From 2015 to 2019, Major Rimi (rtd) was Chief Security Officer of the Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company. During the 2019 campaign, he also served as Secretary of the Security Sub-Committee of the Kaduna APC Campaign Committee.
