Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has disclosed plans to distribute tablet PCs to teachers in the state’s public schools as part of efforts to enhance the standard of education.
He made the disclosure while flagging-off the Eko-Excellence in Child Education and Learning (Eko-EXCEL), a training organised by the Lagos State Universal Basic Education (LASUBEB) to scale-up teachers’ development for global competitiveness.
The Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, who represented the governor, stated that the training would improve the integration of technology into education from the primary school level and help to close the gap between the rich and the poor by ensuring that all children get access to quality education.
According to him, a critical investment in basic education was required to build the quality workforce needed to achieve access to quality education for all children in the state.
