The Kaduna State government has assured the people of the state as well as commuters of safe and decongested roads especially with the urban renewal project going on in the state metropolis.
Commissioner, Public Works and Infrastructure, Balaraba Aliyu-Inuwa, while speaking in an interview with our correspondent yesterday however lamented the spate of accidents being experienced along the Kaduna-Zaria road and urged motorists to exercise patience.
She disclosed that between January and May, 2019, 58 fatal accidents have been recorded along the road, saying “Maraban Jos is particularly a difficult place because of the diversion and massive amount of tankers that ply the area to park on the road. The tankers lining both sides of the road have created a bottleneck.”
On diversion in the state metropolis, she said, “We have been able to identify diversions and alternative routes that people can follow in order not to get stuck in traffic.”
