Foundation empowers 1000 Kwarans

The Sheriff Shagaya Foundation has empowered 1000 Kwara residents with a promise to increase the number in future programmes.

The founder of the foundation, Mr Sheriff Shagaya, also disclosed that the foundation in couple of weeks would be commencing a medical outreach across Kwara state.

Shagaya, who disclosed this at the 16th Empowerment Programme in Ilorin, where 1000 people received N10, 000 each said his foundation would be partnering another NGO that has been involving in medical outreach.

Shagaya announced that the idea to include medical outreach came up from the contribution of his wife who is a medical doctor and have seen a lot of less privilege with various medical needs but cannot afford the treatment.

“Shagaya foundation would partner with a very good NGO that has been doing this. The exercise will start from next month and the pilot programme will start from Kwara North which is the most neglected part of the state. We will finance it and make it bigger so that they can reach out to many people as possible and we will be looking towards different kind of illness,’’ he said.
