NLC to govs: You must pay new minimum wage

The Nigeria Labour Congress yesterday insisted that state governors must pay the N30,000 new national minimum wage.

NLC President Ayuba Wabba, who addressed journalists in Abuja at a stakeholders’ meeting on the implementation of the new national minimum wage, said: “We have states that have already implemented and are paying, we have states that are discussing implementation modalities, and  we have states that have not actually started any process.

“We’re going to take stock of where we are in each state and we will also take a unified decision that will drive the process together.”
