Senators yesterday stood down an earlier plan to pass a vote of confidence on Senate President Ahmad Lawan and his Deputy, Ovie Omo-Agege.
Former governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima, had moved a motion along with 35 others who cut across party divides, but was stepped down.
The Deputy Whip of the Senate, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, who stood in for the leader, moved for the item to be stepped down for another legislative day.
It was seconded by the Senate Minority Whip, Philip Aduda, who stood in for the Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, who was absent at the plenary.
