50 bags First Class as Kashere varsity graduates 1,726

The Federal University of Kashere (FUK) on Monday said 50 students of the institution would be graduating with First Class degrees during its third convocation ceremony slated for Saturday.

Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Alhassan Mohammed Gani, disclosed this today during the pre-convocation press briefing for the 3rd, 4th and 5th combined convocation ceremony of the university.

He said 50 students out of the 1,726 graduating students, passed out with First Class degrees, while 629 bagged Second Class Upper; 873 got Second Class Lower, 164 graduated with Third Class and 10 students got a Pass degree.

Professor Gani revealed that during the convocation, the university will confer an honourary doctorate degree of science on Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje and a Post-humous honourary doctorate degrees on late Dr Yusufu Bala Usman and late Brigadier General Zakariya Maimalari.

The vice chancellor said the pre-convocation lecture titled; ‘The Role of Digital Economy for National Economic Development,’ will be delivered on Friday by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami under the chairmanship of Senator Yahaya Abdullahi, the Senate Leader.

Gani also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the approval of N2billion for special high impact projects to be executed in the university by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

He outlined constructions and furnishing of chancellery, library, auditorium, academic staff offices; and the supply and installation of office furniture and laboratory equipment as the projects to be executed and handed over to the university before September 2020.
