The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the training of another set of 50 unemployed youths under its sustainable Agricultural Development Training Programme in Kogi State.
In his address, the Kogi State coordinator of NDE, Mallam Zakari Abubakar reiterated the desire of NDE to create job by impacting marketable skills in the youths.
According to him, trainees will undergo practical and theoretical training in poultry and crop farming.
He identified agriculture as one of those areas that have high potentials in job creation and urged the trainees to take their training with all the seriousness it deserved.
The Director General of NDE, Dr Nasir Ladan Argungu who was represented by Mrs Shade Uche, said that the Federal Government was committed to reducing poverty through job creation.
He enumerated the various success recorded by NDE in this regards since he assumed office which he said was aimed at curbing the negative vices prevalent among the youth which is a fall out of poverty and unemployment.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mallam Mohammed Abdulrahman, thanked the NDE and the federal government for the opportunity given to them to learn skills that will improve their lives and promised to make judicious use of the opportunity.
