Police arraign 77-year-old blind man over possession of Indian hemp

The Osun State Police Command has arraigned a 77-year-old blind man, Kareem Adebayo, at a magistrate court in Osogbo, the state capital, for allegedly possessing Indian hemp.

The police prosecutor, Rachael Idowu, told the court yesterday that Adebayo, whom she described as an ex-convict, was arrested on Tuesday with a bag of dried leaf suspected to be Indian hemp.

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The magistrate, Mrs Risikat Olayemi, transferred the case to a chief magistrate court in Okuku, in the same Osun State, for mention next Monday and adjourned the case till November 14, 2019.
