Alleged threat to life: Estate agent to face trial Nov 6

Magistrate Mrs A. A. Runsewe, sitting at the Igbosere chief magistrate court, has fixed November 6, 2019 for the trial of a 35-year-old estate agent, Davidson Promise, who allegedly sent a threat message to kill an accommodation seeker, Vera Onoja.

Promise was also alleged to have assaulted Onoja by beating her up and inflicting injuries on her.

The accused person is facing a three-count charge of assault, threat to life and stealing preferred against him by the police.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Tope Adegbite, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between July 5 and October 15 this year.

Adegbite said that the incident took place at about 10am at the Oworonshoki area of Lagos State.

The prosecutor further stated that the defendant on July 5, at about 12pm, obtained the sum of N100,000 from the complainant under the pretence that he was going to rent an apartment for her, which he allegedly failed to do.

Promise pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail of N50,000, with two sureties in the like sum.
