The Presidency said yesterday that Nigeria got all its requests from Russia at the just concluded summit.
Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, said in a piece written after the Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi that President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Nigeria from his four-day trip “extremely happy” with the success of the visit.
Shehu said based upon the results, it must be concluded that the President’s mission was “fully” accomplished.
Shehu, who said Russia was seeking to reconstruct the important role the country played in its Soviet-era, added that they had traditionally supported African countries in their fights for independence and sought to build industrial infrastructure and develop national economies.
He said the summit, for President Buhari, had served the desire of two countries to diversify and further strengthen the bonds of robust bilateral relations, pointing out that a solid foundation has indeed been laid for the promotion of the mutually beneficial cooperation between both nations.
