Dogara, Jika, other Bauchi NASS members meet governor Mohammed in Abuja

Former Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and other members of the National Assembly from Bauchi State held a meeting with the State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed in Abuja on Friday.

The meeting held at the instance of the governor behind closed doors was with federal legislators from the state.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Governor Mohammed said the meeting was held to discuss the need to cooperate and work in synergy for the development of Bauchi State.

He said the call for cooperation is to set aside all political differences and work together in order to move the state forward, stressing that the time for partisan politics is over.

He appealed to the members of the National Assembly to use their positions to bring projects that will have positive impact on the lives of the citizens of Bauchi State.

The governor commended the federal lawmakers for their cooperation and resolve to work in synergy with his administration.

He therefore appealed to the people of the state regardless of their political differences to join hands with the two bodies for the development of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the other lawmakers, the Senator representing Bauchi Central, Senator Halliru Dauda Jika said that, the NASS members will support the governor to overcome the challenges affecting the progress and development of the state.

The former Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara commended the governor for his resolve to bring unity among the sons and daughters of the state.

He said the members have resolved to support him irrespective of their political differences so as to execute developmental programmes for the state.

One Senator and 11 members out of the 13 members of House of Representatives from the state attended the meeting.

The others who could not make it, were said to have informed the governor and apologized over their inability to attend the meeting.
